Aabid Youssef

Aabid Youssef is an interdisciplinary artist with a focus on photography, video and design based in Montreal. His practice often recites themes surrounding androgyny, finding context through monochromatic imagery coupled with documentation of music and youth subcultures.

Inspired by artistic movements from the mid-seventies to the late eighties, Aabid often collaborates with artists and musicians on the vanguard of counter culture movements by focusing on their evolution and development as artists through portraiture and video art.

Aabid’s recent commercial clients have included Ssense, Curves by Sean Brown, Shahneli, Le Gramme, Tim Hortons, Ebay, Love Beauty and Planet, Becel, Axe and Sunkist. He has recently been published in the New York Times, GQ, Complex, Vice, The Line of Best Fit and The Fader.

Aabid is currently collaborating with artist Alex Jung on their debut album due for release in summer 2023
