Megan Powell is a Toronto-based food stylist, recipe developer and prop stylist. Megan is an Anishnaabe Kwe with a mixed heritage of Anishinaabe and Welsh from Wikwemikong Unceded Territory, although she calls Muskoka home. Her Anishnaabe culture has impacted Megan’s view on food and how she personally prepares food for herself and her family. She has been in the food industry since the age of 16, her passion stemming from her mom and grandma’s baking influences.
She received her degree in culinary operations at the Culinary Institute of Canada in P.E.I. and also owns her own plant-based bakery specializing in cakes in Muskoka.
She absolutely loves her job as it is an art form, and prides herself on her impeccable eye for detail, quality work, good communication and positive attitude creating a smooth set experience and exceeding the expectations of clients. Her work can be viewed on TV, publishing, print, product packages and social media.
